What We Look For
Root intrusion — the leading cause of blocked drains in Bathurst's older suburbs. Roots appear on camera as hair-like strands or dense root masses growing from joints and cracks. Cracks and breaks — from ground movement, traffic loading above, or material fatigue in older clay pipes. Joint displacement — where the pipe has moved at a joint, either from ground settlement or tree root pressure. Bellying — sections of pipe that have sagged and now retain waste, causing recurring slow drains and blockages. Foreign objects and scale buildup — visible on camera and measurable in terms of flow restriction.
